John Barker is executive vice president, general counsel and secretary. He joined ONEOK, Inc. in December 2004 as senior vice president and general counsel after a 30-year career with the Tulsa law firm of Gable & Gotwals, Inc.

While president of Gable & Gotwals, Barker represented ONEOK on a regular basis for many years on business and transactional matters, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial matters, including sales and acquisitions of significant assets and public securities offerings.

A Vietnam veteran, Barker is a board member of the Tulsa Metro Chamber of Commerce and a past president of the Jenks Public Schools Foundation. He is a trustee of the St. Simeon’s Episcopal Home Foundation and has served on the board and as president of the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa.

A Missouri native, Barker earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Missouri and received his juris doctor degree from the University of Michigan in 1974.
