Bobbie J. Barker is vice president of administration for Texas Gas Service, a division of ONEOK, Inc. In this position, Barker is responsible for gas supply, safety and field audits, facilities, human resources and communications

Barker began her gas industry career in 1992 when she was named manager of mergers and acquisitions for Southern Union Company. When ONEOK purchased the Texas gas distribution properties of Southern Union in 2003, Barker was named regional vice president; she was promoted to her current position in May 2003. Early in her career, she also worked for the Texas Water Commission, the state’s environmental agency, and the Legislative Budget Board.

Barker is a board member and past president of both the Austin Area Research Organization and the Downtown Austin Alliance; and she serves on the advisory boards of the Austin Idea Network and the Nature Conservancy. Also, she is current chairperson of the Austin Area Urban League and is on the advisory council of the University of Texas School of Architecture.

A Texas native, she earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and a master’s degree in public administration from Texas State University.
