For the second year in a row, ONEOK has received the Employer of Choice Award from the Job Service Employers Committee of Sidney, Montana. ONEOK employs approximately 90 people in the Sidney area and more than 270 throughout the Williston Basin.
The annual award recognizes employers who go above and beyond to create a positive working environment for their employees. Evaluations are based on employee benefits/initiatives, leadership and workplace culture, employee training/development and community orientation/involvement.
"In a very competitive marketplace, this award helps ONEOK build brand and name recognition in the minds of job seekers," said Craig Forsander, vice president, ONEOK Rockies Midstream operations.
In addition to its competitive compensation and benefits package, ONEOK is one of the few companies in the region to avoid layoffs, which is due in large part to prudent hiring. Ensuring each position is justified and hiring qualified candidates who are a good fit for the ONEOK culture remains a priority.
"This type of recognition serves as a level of validation for the things we are working on to be an employer of choice – workplace safety, quality of leadership, competitive compensation, employee training and development and work-life balance," said Forsander.
Also contributing to the win are the development and training ONEOK offers. Company leaders strive to connect with employees and their career goals, so they can help them explore opportunities within the organization to help them achieve those goals.
