Here at ONEOK, we know our success is dependent upon our greatest resource – our employees. As a part of our commitment to foster a diverse, inclusive workplace, we provide our employees the opportunity to form business resource groups to encourage networking, mentoring and professional development. Business Resource Groups at ONEOK are voluntary, employee-led groups that serve as resources for both members and our company. And in recognition of Black History Month, we are spotlighting one of our newest resource groups: Black/African-American Resource Group.
The Black/African-American Resource Group’s mission is to strengthen ONEOK's culture of inclusion for Black and African-American employees and their supporters. Their goals are to deliver mentoring, networking and educational opportunities that promote learning, grow cultural competence and provide professional development. In addition, they plan to partner with community organizations focused on racial/ethnic unity and equity throughout our geographic footprint.
Black/African-American Resource Group Chair Ramon Watkins, ONEOK managing attorney, (pictured below: front row, third from left) said, “I wanted to be a part of creating and leveraging inclusion opportunities for Black and African-American employees at ONEOK. This group provides an avenue for engagement with other professionals and ONEOK leadership, which enhances our already inclusive culture.”
The first Black/African-American Resource Group event of the year was the Tulsa Martin Luther King Jr. Parade, which we shared on the blog last month.
