ONEOK Receives Sidney, Montana, Chamber’s Highest Honor

The Sidney Area Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture presented the company with its Sunrise Spirit Award.

ONEOK recently was presented with the Sunrise Spirit Award from the local Sidney (Montana) Area Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture.

This award is the highest honor bestowed by the chamber, recognizing a business or organization that consistently gives a little more of itself in service to the community. Award recipients demonstrate and sustain success while actively contributing to the growth and vitality of the Sidney area.

Moreover, recipients of this award go beyond traditional business roles, investing time, leadership and resources into civic, charitable and community initiatives while serving as role models for community-minded business practices.

Accepting the award on behalf of ONEOK was Dick Vande Bossche, vice president, operations: Rocky Mountain. He thanked the chamber for the recognition of ONEOK staff, sharing how they “work extremely hard at a Core Value we take very, very seriously: Service.”

“Anybody who is in this room has to be a service-minded individual, organization or company,” Vande Bossche reminded those in attendance. “It’s what communities like Sidney and Richland County thrive on. If not through the act of volunteerism, the communities would not be what they are today.

“For ONEOK, it’s extremely important that we encourage our employees to give their time and resources within their communities in which they live and work,” he continued. “It’s more than just showing up to work and doing your job. We want our employees in our company to become part of the fabric of the communities in which we all live and work, and that’s extremely important. Our goal is to continue with the momentum that ONEOK has established in the region and continue this pace as we move forward throughout the foreseeable future.” 

The event also celebrated the 110-year anniversary of the chamber.
