ONEOK on Tour: Building Tomorrow’s Workforce Today

From career fairs to campus events, we’re showing students what a future at ONEOK looks like.

For many students, a conversation at a career fair can help shape what’s next. It might be a chance to learn about an industry they haven’t considered, hear firsthand what it’s like to work at a specific company or discover a career path that aligns with their interests and goals.

This fall, ONEOK employees will help create those lightbulb moments as the campus recruiting season gets underway at over 35 events across 19 campuses. These conversations will introduce students to both ONEOK and the energy industry, while creating relationships that could have a lasting impact.

Making an Impression

Finding and developing talent is important to our long-term success. Campus recruiting is an opportunity to share what makes ONEOK unique and help students envision how they can grow their careers here. Through every career fair, classroom visit and networking event, recruiters and employee representatives bring our culture, Mission, Vision and Core Values to life. Those interactions help students better understand the work we do and the many ways they can contribute.

The connections created at campus events can make an impression. Dante Harvey, an Oklahoma State University student who interned with ONEOK last summer, said meeting employees at a career fair helped him envision what a future with ONEOK could look like.

“When I spoke with the people at ONEOK, I felt like this was a company where I’d feel included,” he said. “It felt like a place with a great culture and somewhere I could grow both personally and professionally.”

Recruiting efforts are supported by employees across the company who share their experiences with students and help bring ONEOK’s culture to life.

Marcia Benson, early career programs, professional development program (PDP) II in Tulsa, who joined ONEOK as an engineering intern and now participates in the PDP said representing the company at recruiting events is especially meaningful because she once stood on the other side of the table.

“As an undergraduate, I was looking for an organization that welcomed new thoughts and ideas and encouraged my growth as a young professional,” Benson said. “It’s an honor to represent a company where I found those opportunities. I hope my experience inspires the next generation of talent to join our workforce and help us become 1% better every day.”
